Character Counts at Hurlock

Elementary School

             The character Pillar for the Month of May is Caring.  At Hurlock Elementary School, we are collecting pennies every day to donate to The Leukemia Society.  This money will go to research to hopefully find a cure for this disease.

          While you are making your family’s summer vacation plans, why don’t you have your children sit down and write thank you notes to their teachers and other school staff for all their hard work during the past school year?  It will bring a big smile to everyone’s faces – even your child’s! 

         Showing gratitude not only makes the recipient feel good but it can make the giver feel so good that he or she makes it a point to show gratitude more often to more people. It goes a long way towards making our neighborhoods Caring communities.

 

 

 

 

 

               

               Volunteers are needed to help at our “Family Ties Event”.  This fun, activity filled event will take place on Friday, May 9th from  5:30—7:30.  Games, food, cake walk, and much more!  Please call the school if you can help run an activity, set-up or clean-up on that night.

                    Thank you to everyone who supported our Joe Corbi’s fundraiser.  Money raised goes to the discipline committee for the Jolly Roger trip and to the PTO.   It truly makes a difference!

PreK and K Registration

When:  Thursday, May 8th

Time:    9:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.

Where:  Hurlock Elementary School

 

PreK: Must be 4 by Sept. 1, 2008

   K: Must be 5 by Sept. 1, 2008

 

The following information is required for registration:  birth certificate; immunization record; proof of residence; proof of lead testing; custody papers (if any); social security card (if they have one).
