A message from

          your principal…

Dear Hurlock Family,

I can not believe that this is the last edition of “The Eagle Speaks” for the 2007-2008 school year!  As I reflect over the past year, I can’t help but have a sense of pride.  The staff at Hurlock Elementary School has worked diligently to provide the best instruction for your child.

As I walk through the hallways and classrooms I can see and hear the learning that is taking place on a daily basis.  I get goose bumps when I walk into kindergarten and hear our kindergartners reading!  It amazes me that some of our 5th graders are solving algebraic equations!

I keep a copy of the following quote under my desk pad because it explains why I chose to be in the field of education.

“ One hundred years from now,

it will not matter what kind

of car I drove, what kind of

house I lived in, how much

I had in my bank account,

Nor what my clothes looked like.

But the world may be a little

           Better because I was important

In the life of a child.”

We have made a difference in the lives of many of the students at Hurlock Elementary School.  We won’t stop until we have made a difference for all of them.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.  Have a safe, fun summer!

                                     Sincerely,

                                     Mrs. Teat
